Archangel Michael, foremost among angels. God is absent and has been for quite some time.

Michael is curious as to whether angels can live as humans again, as they really don't seem to be needed anymore. He descends to Earth and takes part in human pleasures as an experiment, and also causes a young angel named Liron to 'half-fall' - not quite kicked out of Heaven, but he wakes up on Earth with shedding wings.
